THE WORDS KADOSII AND IIIERODOM. The Hebrew words ^^Ip, ^1p andj^^lp, Kadash and Kadish, meant Holy, Pure, Clean. Yehuali, the Angels, and pious men were called ''^^^"Ip, Kadushim, in tlie plural. Gesenius reads it Kodascliim. "With the definite article H, prefixed, ^l"]p meant the Holy Place or Sanctuary ; and Qi^^pH t^^Tpj Kcidnsh K KadusJiinij meant the Holy of Holies, that is the Most Holy place. T^r^^n? Haikal, means a fine house, a palace or Temple. ^"Ip 7^^n, Haikal Kadash^ the Holy House or Temple.
