The Thirty-eighth Spirit is Halphas, or Malthous (or Malthas). He is a Great Earl, and appeareth in the Form of a Stock-Dove. He speaketh with a hoarse Voice. His Office is to build up Towers, and to furnish them with Ammunition and Weapons, and to send Men-of-War21 to places appointed. He ruleth over 26 Legions of Spirits, and his Seal is this, etc.
As printed in Mathers’ Lesser Key of Solomon, page 40. The text above is that page’s, not a paraphrase of it.
Both editions of this book in the library give the same name, rank and legion count. That is not proof the list is old; it is proof the library is not reading one scan’s mistakes back to you.
